Stainless Steel Conductors and Shields This group of ultra flexible, ultra miniature wire and cable of superior properties is covered by a series of numbers in various sizes and construction as indicated on these pages. These unusual wires and cables offer minimum diameters with maximum flexibility and flex life. Single conductor wires are insulated with clear non-hygroscopic fluorocarbon (withstanding 150 V.D.C. at 20°C, useful from - 80°C to 200°C), extruded over multi-stranded, stainless steel wires. Cables consists of one to six conductors, covered by a stainless steel braided shield. They may be jacketed with fluorocarbon, polyvinylchloride compounds, polyurethane and polypropylene. The table below describes single conductor, unshielded constructions only. The following series of cables from one to five conductors (although more conductors are available if required), which may be shielded, or shielded and jacketed with either flurocarbon (FEP) or polyvinylchloride (PVC). For example, AS 631- 1SS is a single conductor shielded cable; AS 631-1SSF indicates the same construction, with an overall FEP jacket (the F stands for flurocarbon); AS 631-1 SSP indicates the same construction, with an overall PVC jacket (the P stands for polyvinylcholoride). All of the cables described below and throughout this series are standard catalog products, and some are available from stock. Many other construction can be manufactures using different sizes, stranding, conductors, wall thickness, shields and jackets. Refer specific problems to us.
