In 1994, Cooner Wire entered the fast, and we do mean
fast, paced sport of NHRA drag racing, with the purchase of a starting
line hospitality suite at the Pomona California home of the NHRA Winternationals
and Finals. Cooner Wire's plan to open up a new avenue of building customer
relationships has far exceeded our expectations. Customer response has
been tremendous. Sure we talk a little business but, it is more about
building friendships and getting to know our customers. Cooner Wire takes
great joy in experiencing the races with our customers and nothing satisfies
us more than the many letters of thanks expressing not only what a wonderful
time they had, but how much their children or their spouse enjoyed the
races.

Cooner Sponsored 1940 Willys Coup.

With the success of our suite came the desire to have
a car to root for. In comes our Cooner Wire sponsored 1940 Willys coup.
Owned and operated by Buzzard Racing's Mike Lipis and Lirones Motorsport's
Jeff Lirones, the Willys races in the super-comp class. For those unfamiliar
with the super-comp class, the desired result is to run 8.90 seconds in
the quarter mile, with speeds around 160 MPH.
509 cubic inches developing 940 horsepower has already
earned us awards for Best Appearing Car and Best Engineered Car at separate
national events.
Come see us reach for Goal Number 3 . . . National Event
Winner.
